The next sessions of "initiation to traditionnal mosaic", are in Puyricard, 5 km north of Aix en Provence
(free parking, regular buses)
Dates to be determined by the end of May, for 4  hours a day, from 9:00 to 13:OO ;
Number of people : 5 to 7, all beginners ;
Fees (all included) : 45 euros per half day
Each person is the owner of his/her own work.

Session program :

- cutting stones and glass pastes, with hackhammer on chisel, and nipper
- copying the drawing which will be choosen among several propositions
- laying the prepared stones on fresh mortar, to create the image

The theory of mosaics will be taught every day, for around a half hour :

the history of mosaic
a variety of contemporary techniques and uses
focus on stones : marble, granit and various other hard stones
modern mosaic ; discussions at the end of the session
